Belong, Engage, Enjoy
Boccia Success:
This week we were delighted to welcome pupils from Dawn House School to Fountaindale for a friendly Boccia fixture in our school hall. It was a wonderful opportunity for our pupils to meet and compete alongside children from another special school, demonstrating excellent teamwork, sportsmanship and encouragement throughout.
We are incredibly proud of our team, who put in some fantastic performances and secured a 7-2 victory! Well done to everyone involved.
We hope this is the first of many fixtures and are looking forward to arranging more sporting opportunities for our pupils in the near future.
Chocolate Tombola Donations Needed:
As we look ahead to our Christmas Fayre, we would be very grateful for donations of chocolate at our upcoming Halloween Disco. All chocolate donations will be used for our popular Chocolate Tombola, which is always a fantastic attraction at the fayre.
We were overwhelmed by the generosity of our families when we asked for donations at the Summer Disco, and we would greatly appreciate any contributions again this time.
Half-Term Holiday Reminder:
A reminder that school will close for the October half-term break on Friday 16th October and reopen to pupils on Monday 2nd November.
Christmas Fayre Reminder:
A quick reminder that our Christmas Fayre will be taking place on Saturday 5th December. We are already busy planning what promises to be a fantastic event, with lots of festive activities, games, stalls and opportunities to get into the Christmas spirit.
We would love to see as many families as possible join us for what is always a wonderful community event. More details will be shared over the coming weeks, including ways you can support and get involved.

One of our parents has kindly shared details of some SEN-friendly sessions taking place locally, which may be of interest to families looking for additional leisure opportunities.

Weekly Safeguarding Update: Keeping Children Safe Online
As technology continues to play an important role in children's lives, we wanted to take this opportunity to remind families about the importance of online safety. Simple measures such as setting up parental controls, monitoring the apps and websites children access, and having regular conversations about staying safe online can make a significant difference.
We encourage parents and carers to regularly check the safety settings on devices, games consoles and streaming services, and to ensure children know what to do if they see something online that makes them feel worried or uncomfortable.
For further advice and guidance on keeping children safe online, visit: www.internetmatters.org or www.nspcc.org.uk/keeping-children-safe/online-safety.
Have a lovely weekend!
