Headteacher: Ben Norman

Ben joined Fountaindale School in April 2026, bringing leadership experience from specialist SEND education. Prior to joining Fountaindale, he spent a number of years as an Assistant Headteacher at Swanwick School and Sports College, followed by three years as Deputy Headteacher at Dawn House School. Both schools are highly regarded specialist provisions that achieved 'Outstanding' Ofsted judgements during his time there.

Throughout his career, Ben has been committed to improving outcomes for children and young people with additional needs, developing high-quality educational experiences and supporting pupils to prepare for successful and fulfilling adult lives.

As Headteacher of Fountaindale School, he is proud to lead the school and work alongside pupils, families, staff and the wider community.

Deputy Headteacher: Charlotte Adu

Charlotte joined Fountaindale School in February 2024, having previously taught for seven years at Birchwood School, a large special school in Melton Mowbray. During her time there, she led the Post-16 department and developed her role to become an Associate Assistant Headteacher. She also led targeted interventions and created bespoke support packages for young people, ensuring that students had access to a range of therapeutic interventions tailored to their individual needs and designed to support the best possible outcomes.

Throughout her career in special education, Charlotte has continued to develop her knowledge, skills, and understanding. She believes that working in special education is far more than a job; it is a vocation.

Charlotte feels privileged to work alongside such skilled practitioners and is committed to continuing her own professional growth. She believes that collaboration is at the heart of successful special education and values working closely with professionals from education, health, and social care to ensure every young person receives the support they need to thrive.

Deputy Headteacher and DSL: Robert Mulvey

Rob joined Fountaindale School in September 2024.  He has worked in Special Education for over 30 years and was previously at Hilltop School in Rotherham which is also part of the Nexus Multi Academy Trust.

Rob loves his role as Deputy Head and Designated Safeguarding Lead at Fountaindale and wholeheartedly believes that it is a privilege to work with such wonderful students alongside such a talented and devoted staff team.

Assistant Headteacher: Amy Naylor

Amy joined Fountaindale School in September 2025, having taught and led the Post-14 pathway at Alfreton Park School for 10 years. She has always had a keen interest in teaching within SEND education having been Assistant SENDCo at a mainstream secondary prior to that.

Her passion is ensuring the pupils reach their full potential, particularly in developing their independence and living skills.

Amy loves her role as Assistant Headteacher and fells honoured to be part of the Fountaindale family.
