Fountaindale Celebrates Gold: Rights Respecting School Award

Belong, Engage, Enjoy

We are incredibly proud to announce that Fountaindale has been awarded UNICEF UK’s Gold: Rights Respecting Schools Award - the highest level of recognition in the Rights Respecting Schools Award journey.

This fantastic achievement recognises the way children’s rights are embedded into the culture, curriculum and everyday life of Fountaindale. Following our accreditation visit in July, UNICEF UK confirmed that we had successfully achieved all three strands of the award. The assessor highlighted that children’s rights are not simply something we teach, but something that underpins every facet of school life.

The feedback report celebrates a number of key strengths across our school, including our strong commitment to rights and respect, our nurturing family atmosphere, our focus on inclusion and dignity, and the way our pupils are listened to and involved in decision-making. The assessor particularly recognised that pupils feel empowered to drive change within Fountaindale.

A huge thank you goes to our pupils, staff, families and particularly our Rights Respecting School Coordinator, Hayley Warne, whose commitment and enthusiasm have helped make this achievement possible. Most importantly, this award celebrates what we believe at Fountaindale: every child matters, every child has rights, and every child should have the opportunity to Belong, Engage and Enjoy.

We are incredibly proud of our Fountaindale family and will be celebrating this fantastic achievement in the Summer term.
